My technology saavy 3 year old, loves playing with my iPod Touch. I love finding fun games for him to play that teach him a skill or provide an opportunity for him to practice a skill he is learning. Tickle Tap Apps provide all the things I am looking for.
Tickle Tap Apps for the iTouch/iPhone are geared for children ages 3-5. Tickle Tap Apps offer games that practice counting, sorting, patterns, colors and more. Each app has adorable animation and comes with a brief instructional video to help parents get their child ready to play. Tickle Tap Apps are user friendly and very easy for a preschooler to play. Even my almost 2 year old was able to play them a bit.
My son Dylan enjoys playing Count Caddy.
This app gives him the opportunity to practice his counting skills. It also provides harder levels as he progresses through the game. It starts with counting by one's, then two's, then three's. The other game he enjoys playing is Sort Slider. In this app, he can practice sorting shapes by matching the shape with its correct outline. He laughs every time the little dog barks. I love that he is learning and having fun at the same time.
