I love baking. This time of year, I'm usually busy baking some kind of holiday treats. I love trying to get my almost 3 year old to help. His favorite part is stirring and sampling the goodies when they are finished.

When I learned about Zebra Mix baking kits for kids, I thought it was a neat idea. Who wouldn't like a fun way to get kids involved in the baking process? I received the Zebra Cupcake and Frosting Kit to try out with my son. Upon opening the box, I discovered not only easy to follow directions but a full color baking map that explains everything in a way that's easy for kids to follow. There are two sets of directions, one for younger children (ages 4-9) and one for older children (ages 9+). Even non-readers will be able to follow the step-by-step picture directions. While we were waiting for the cupcakes to bake, Dylan had fun coloring and doing the other activities on the baking map. When the cupcakes were finished, Dylan did not want to wait for them to cool! I had to distract him with helping me make the frosting. Once the cupcakes were frosted, Dylan enjoyed his cupcake. They turned out great and tasted fantastic. We had a great time doing something fun together.
