My almost 3 year old is obsessed with electronics and gadgets. Anything with buttons and sounds is the perfect thing for him to play with. Poingo fills his need for electronic interaction while enriching his play with stories, songs, games, and so much more. Poingo is an interactive story reader that uses a pen to interact with the pages in the books.

I was excited to receive my Poingo starter kit. The starter kit includes the Poingo pen and two hardcover story books. The story books include Disney's Cars and Finding Nemo, both favorites in our house. My son Dylan was so excited to look through the books. When I showed him how to use the Poingo pen to interact with the book, he was hooked. He enjoyed playing with the books for over 2 hours the first time. I was shocked at how well these books captured his attention!

Each book not only reads the story but has multiple interactions on each page. Almost every picture that is touched with the Poingo pen will play a song, make a sound, state a fact, or play a game. "Poingo lets kids unlock hidden treasures on every page, triggering exciting elements of discovery, exploration and surprise." These books are much more than just a story reader. They are an effective learning tool that captures the attention of the child. They incorporate some science, geography, music, listening and so much more. For example, in the Cars book, there is a map of the United States. When you touch the Poingo pen to a location, it will tell you the state you pointed to. This is just one of the many things that Poingo aims to teach using this interactive story reader. "Everything about Poingo creates a stimulating, interactive experience that is bound to get kids excited about reading."

The best part about Poingo is that it is affordable compared to other similar products on the market. The starter kit retails for $34.99 and the additional books are $9.99. Poingo is recommended for ages 3 to 7. Another great feature about Poingo is you can register your pen online and download other interactive songs and book titles. Simply connect your Poingo pen to the computer using a USB cord, which is included. Poingo is available for purchase at Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco and BJ's Wholesale Clubs and http://www.discoverpoingo.com/. I would recommend this product to anyone. My son has found his new favorite obsession and I enjoy watching him interact with Poingo. He likes to share and say "Your turn Mommy," which I gladly accept and join in on the fun.

I love this product! My favorite stories of the ones available right now would be Cars and Winnie the Pooh. These would be just right for my 2 nephews. I like that it allows the children to "read" the stories themselves, it lets them intereact with the book and it helps their motor skills by holding the Poingo pen and needing to push it on certain areas. I believe it is a great idea!
