We have friends that have these and love them. I like that I can give the "magic" of Christmas to my children while they're still young and believe in things like this! Fun!

Experience the Hippest, Coolest, most fun new interactive 12 day Christmas craze for children.

I'm sure you have many family traditions for Christmas. Maybe you hunt for the perfect Christmas tree together and chop it down, or make gingerbread cookies, or go caroling...there's always room for a new tradition right? I know as our son grows older we will try and create new traditions and experiences for him. Our new tradition this year?

Elfing Around is a super fun activity/game that happens 12 days before Christmas. The Elfing Around experience begins with a letter from the elf to your child announcing their up and coming arrival. This builds the anticipation and excitement for your child. You can pick a name for the elf as well as their job in Santa's workshop, another cool feature.

When your little elf arrives, your child will receive a second letter "I promised Santa I would "freeze" during the day. I have to be quiet and still, like a statue. I can't let other see my magic because they won't believe it." Your child can play with the elf during the day, but the elf must be placed in the same location at bedtime.

Then the *m*a*g*i*c* happens. This is where you "set the scene". Maybe your elf likes to read a book or work on a puzzle or maybe eat a late night snack. If you're not creatively inclined, each elf comes with a booklet of ideas for the elf scenes. The next morning your child will discover what that elf was up to during the night!

On December 24th the elf will be placed where Santa can find him/her. The elf will be returned back to the North Pole with Santa. Don't worry...he'll come back next Christmas!

Each Elfing Around kit includes:

Boy/Girl Elf (12 inches tall)
Parent Adventure Guide Book
Letter from Elf
2 Elf Tattoos
There are also free downloadable activites on the Elfing Around Web Site.

Each elf package retails for $29.99

Who's the genius behind this fabulous idea? A mom of course!!! Lisa Huckemeyer is the creator and owner of Elfing Around.

"Eureka – the Christmas tradition I’d been dreaming of! The elves were right up my alley. They were messy, funny, enchanting – but most of all they put a sparkle in my children’s’ eyes and smiles on their faces everyday, all day long. Before my eyes these magical Christmas elves changed Christmas as we knew it. They aren’t just elves to my children – they are Jingle and Sugar Plum, of course! After I set up each nightly escapade (the elf comes with a book explaining what you need to do) I would go to bed excited to see my children’s reactions the next morning.

The elves became part of our family immediately. They were brought on play dates and introduced to their friends, they came to restaurants, parties, movies, … Honestly, this new Christmas tradition, these two Christmas elves, Jingle and Sugar Plum, brought our family together in ways I can’t explain. This Christmas tradition is all about family! They’ve made our Christmas less about the hype and commercialization and more about the joy that Christmas brings to those who believe. So now when someone asks me – Why a new Christmas Tradition? Why a Christmas Elf Doll? – I answer smilingly, just because, it’s magical!

I would love an Elfing Around Package because I have an 8 year old and a 14 month old. While my 8 year old hasn't come out and said it...sometimes I wonder if he still believes. This would be a great way to connect both kids. Pea would have fun with the elf and John would wonder what exactly is going on!

  49. Millie, Jake, Caroline and Clayton // Friday, November 14, 2008

What a darling idea! It brings back so many memories of the way my parents made holidays special for us. Especially of the year I told my mom Santa didn't exist, and he took away all my presents in the middle of the night. Several days later, they were returned with a hand written letter. The crazy thing is, the whole family was at the library when things were mysteriously put back in our house. The magic of Christmas is something that every child should experience and enjoy. I hope I win so I can use this fun idea in our home!!!

With six children I have traditions with the older 3 and now making traditions with the younger three.
This would be a great tradition to start with my little girls, they are all under age 7 and would love to play/find the elf and know she's coming back the next year!

My 5th daughter was born Christmas day, and I'd love to find a way to incorporate the elf into those festivities as well!

  64. onangelwings // Monday, November 17, 2008

This is too cute. I spend all my extra time thinking of things to make my children's special moments extra special. This would be an awesome addition to my 25 days of Christmas. I wrap all of our tapes, books, DVD's and CD's then every day the kids get to pick one thing to open every day until Christmas morning.
